1, polyethylene (PE)


  1939 to achieve industrial production, the largest output, the most widely used, accounting for about 30% of the world's total plastic production, the highest in the plastic industry.


(1) characteristics


       ① odorless, tasteless, non-toxic


② was flammable white powder


③ ρ = 0.91 to 0.98 g / cm3


       (2) Type:


According to the pressure used in polymerization, points: high pressure polyethylene, medium pressure polyethylene, low pressure polyethylene.


    According to the different density of polyethylene, points: high density polyethylene, medium density polyethylene, low density polyethylene.


       (3) use


            ① high-frequency communications cable and submarine electricity insulation layer;


② chemical equipment parts, pipes and containers;


③ and low temperature to -600C, the use of temperature is not high, 800C.


2, polypropylene (PP)


       1957 to achieve industrial production, production ranked third.


(1) characteristics


① white, tasteless, non-toxic, combustible waxy transparent plastic;


②ρ = 0.90 ~ 0.91g / cm3, is the most common plastic plastic in a plastic;


③ excellent heat resistance, chemical stability, electrical properties, good mechanical properties;


④ melting point: 1680C ~ 1700C, can be 1070C ~ 1210C long-term use;


⑤ use temperature of 1500C, can be boiled in hot water, 1350C steam disinfection;


⑥ and low temperature is not good, brittle temperature -100C ~ -300C.


(2) use


  Washing machine, refrigerator box, electric fan, vacuum cleaner shell; food film and containers; mechanical parts; crowded lines, tubes, bags and so on.


3, polyvinyl chloride (PVC)


1932 or so to achieve industrial production, production ranks second.


(1) type


   ① hard polyvinyl chloride ② soft polyvinyl chloride


(2) use


① hard tube, hard board, floor, doors and windows and ceiling, record and so on


② tablecloths, raincoats, toys, curtains, wires, rope and so on


(3) forming characteristics


Mold should be set up cooling system. Forming a narrow range. Hygroscopicity is small.


4, polystyrene (PS)


       Industrial production began in 1920, production ranked fourth.


(1) characteristics


            ①ρ = 1.05 g / cm3,


② colorless and transparent, non-toxic, easy to color, tasteless


③ easy to burn


④ light transmittance of 88% to 92%.


(2) use


Production instrument shell, shade, optical instruments


(3) forming characteristics


Hygroscopicity is small; overflow edge value of about 0.03mm, sensitive to pressure changes; plastic products on the wall thickness uniform; can be used in various forms of gate.


5, polyamide ---- nylon (PA)


1940 to achieve industrial production, ranking first in the top five engineering plastics. China's product name is "polyester".


6, POM (POM)


1959 to achieve industrial production. Production is second only to nylon.


(1) characteristics


①ρ = 1.42 g / cm3,


② translucent to opaque white powder or pellets


③ easy to burn, good coloring


(2) use


Mainly used to make gears, springs, bolts, nuts and so on. Long-term use temperature: -400 ~ 1000C.
